The temperatures have plummeted, and winter is most definitely on its way, and sooner or later we are all going to have to tackle the cold. In preparation for the colder weather it is important to ensure your grooming routine is as prepared for the season as you are.
Here are our tips to get you through the winter stretch:
1. Exfoliate Your Skin
As it gets colder outside, we crank the temperature inside up, which is lovely to keep cosy and warm but the results of these ever-changing temperatures isn’t so great for your skin, which is left feeling irritable and dry.
The simplest way to tackle this is to scrub away the dry, dead skin cells with regular exfoliation. It’s really simple, just wet your face, grab yourself a tube of BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE, apply evenly in small circular motions, and then rinse clean with warm water. Finish by applying a quick splash of cold water to help close your pores.
2. Shave after you shower
It may seem logical to shave before having a shower but trust us and try holding off until afterwards. Your pores will be softer afterwards, and less likely to be irritated by a winter shave. Also, try our soothing shaving gel,STUBBLE TROUBLEthat has been formulated to reduce skin irritation.
3. Rehydrate your skin
Next it is important to rehydrate your skin. The easiest way to do this is by moisturising. Choosing the right moisturiser can be a minefield! If your face resembles an oil slick by the end of the day, stick to something lightweight, like ourMOISTURE MATTEwhich will mop up excess oil and keep your face shine free all day. If your skin struggles to work out whether I is oily or dry then reach forMOISTURE TO GO. If your skin is seriously parched tryDOUBLE CREAM, and if you are a sensitive typeBECALMis the one for you.
Remember that moisture doesn’t just escape from your face. Your hands, feet and hair will also need a little extra attention.
4. Wear Sunscreen
You might think that it is counterproductive and, frankly, a bit pointless to apply anything featuring the word 'sun' on to your skin in the depths of winter, but we promise you that your face will thank you for it. Even behind the heavy grey cloud and rain that the British weather brings, the sun is still shining! Irrespective of the weather, the sun’s UV rays are capable of penetration. To keep the sun’s negative impacts at bay, make sure you protect your skin, we love our LIFE DEFENCE SPF30 moisturiser.
5. Protect your lips
The cold temperatures and will wreak havoc on your lips, so make sure you pay them the attention they deserve. Or accept that they’re likely to resemble an old piece of cracked leather for the foreseeable future. TryALL TALKwhich is instant TLC for your lips.
