NOBODY DISHES OUT BEAUTY ADVICE
QUITE LIKE YOUR BEST FRIEND DOES

They know exactly how to break the biggest beauty truth bombs and even if it means you don’t talk to them for a while (say 10 minutes), or ever admit to them that they were right, their advice is usually spot on, and you are forever grateful.

So in celebration of National Best Friend’s Day, here at Temple Spa HQ we’ve pulled together the best advice our BFF’s have ever given us

Liz

Actually the best piece of beauty advice I have ever been given is from my husband! SMILE. If you look down without a smile and then up, with a smile you can drop off ten years! It works like a treat and that’s the MD of a skin care brand talking, so it’s free! The next piece was…never ever go to bed without a deep cleanse; just one night spent with the days make up & grime destroys 30 days of good skin care.

A power-packed, healthy breakfast smoothie for the skin, it contains wholegrains, honey and a blend of Mediterranean fruits & juices that give the complexion a scrub and polish in less than a minute.

Give you and your skin a fresh start with BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE gentle exfoliator, cleanse and polish without upsetting your skin’s balance. A delicious energising boost to set up you for the day ahead. / for whatever the day brings.

Camille

My best friend did give me a great tip when we lived together though, that she got from her nan. I usually do my morning routine pre-coffee so I’m usually still half asleep. On so many occasions, I pump out way too much moisturiser. Instead of wasting it, she told me to rub it into my dry elbows – genius!

Rachel

Raw egg on hair…..washed off with cool water! Put toners, eye products etc in fridge for extra cooling and de-puffying effect.

Michael

‘Clean skin is the secret to healthy skin. Cleanse twice a day!’

‘If you only do one thing to protect your skin, make sure you use an SPF moisturiser daily’.

Trisha

My bestest friend gave me the bestest advice which costs absolutely nothing and I pass it on gladly. A smile will take years off you and lift up all those around who share it.

Mel

Best advice for me came from my friend over 30 years so quite forward thinking for way back then which was to always use 2 masks. The first to take away, clean, purge, get rid of all the things you don’t want on your skin and the second to put back the goodness what you do want. So to this day I do just that every time.

No matter how tired, drunk or rubbish you feel, always take your make up off before bed! Another friend taught me the trick of using milk of magnesium as a make up primer! Sounds really strange but it really works well! The last one is adding a bronzer to your original cream rather than having a separate tan. It is lighter on the skin and stops the biscuit smell!

James

Hair tip – told by a guy to get a haircut every three weeks

Amelia

Never go to bed with your makeup on!

Jez

Toning after cleansing is not just for girls - boys can do it too. Took me 36 years to know this. Never looked back

Emma

When applying mascara, move the wand in a zigzag motion for volumised, clump-free, separated lashes. Works like a dream.
