Blending luxury modern comforts with old English charm, The Swan at Lavenham offers a stunning place to rest your head, dine and make wonderful memories. With Weavers’ House Spa, an array of room packages and dining options, you truly are spoilt for choice here! We caught up with the Pride of Britain Hotel member to find out what a typical stay at The Swan is like, what to explore in the medieval town of Lavenham and why you should make your next trip away to here.

What is interesting or unique about the location and surrounding area of your hotel?

The Swan at Lavenham is situated in England’s most preserved Tudor village. Recently named the Which? Best village in the UK, Lavenham is a popular spot for film and television locations and has been the backdrop for the likes of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One and BBC’s The Magpie Murders.

What first impression/ experience can a guest expect upon arrival?

The Swan boasts 15th century history and undeniable charm. You can expect grand oak beams, opulent furniture and especially in winter, roaring log fires. This is the ultimate location to hideaway and recharge.

What lasting impression do you like your guests to take away from their stay?

The want to return and memories to last a lifetime. This is a special place for many that gets talked about throughout the generations, which means we become a home away from home.

What facility and/or feature of the hotel is the biggest USP/ selling point?

Our 5 Bubble Spa, Weavers’ House Spa is the jewel in our crown offering an incredible range of treatments or just an amazing place to relax and recharge – we truly believe that there’s nowhere quite like Weavers’.

What drew you to partner with TEMPLESPA?

An amazing facility like Weavers’ needs an incredible exclusive product like TEMPLESPA. We have a fantastic relationship with the TEMPLESPA team and work closely with them to offer a range of luxurious treatments all year round.

What changes or new exciting developments have you got planned for 2024?

Having completed the refurbishment of the public areas including our function rooms and the ladies’ restroom, which includes a display of TEMPLESPA products, our focus now turns to our bedrooms. We have currently finished a third of our bedrooms and are expecting to complete this project towards the end of 2024.

What amenities / guest services are most important or popular with your guests?

There are so many to choose!

From our incredible restaurants and gardens to our award-winning spa, our facilities are so good that many people find they don’t want to leave.

To quote Dolly Parton, who sent the hotel a telegram following her stay “I had the time of my life”.

We also pride ourselves on being extremely dog-friendly. From staff lining up to welcome our four-legged VIP to special luxury treats waiting for them in the room.

With travellers more environmentally conscious than ever, how do you find balance and sustainability in your offering?

We have worked closely with TEMPLESPA to utilise their wall dispensers within the bedrooms to reduce the amount of plastic packaging from bottles in rooms. This has reduced our plastic usage by 40% within the hotel.

We have also replaced mini bars with a 24-hour waiter room service to reduce the amount of electricity and emissions, as well as also enhancing the drinks offer to guests, who get to choose from the whole bar rather than a reduced selection.

We regularly work together as a hotel to discuss and find other ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint, as we jointly feel that this is a responsibility which is owned by the whole team.

So what are you waiting for? Book that weekend away or extended week in the historic Lavenham and make sure you stay at The Swan for your most luxurious and memorable trip yet.
