Welcome to the marvellous month of May. There is a certain fragrance that hits the air in May that’s unique and delicious. My mum’s birthday landed when Lilac was in full bloom and as a child living in the countryside, I loved nothing more than gathering huge bunches of cow parsley or ‘free’ wildflowers to present to her. To this day I have a love of fresh and colourful produce either growing in pots or littered around the house to bring life and joy to our home, and at head ...
Welcome to AMAZING APRIL and although as a month it’s been given the rather bad press of “April showers” I don’t personally think this is very fair when considering all the great things it has going for it! Let’s start with goodbye winter, hello spring; lighter nights with the possibilities of early evening strolls or bike rides and even an after work cheeky glass of wine outside. Baby lambs dance in the fields, bluebells carpet the woods, glossy tulips look their absolute ...
It’s ‘Marvellous March’ already! This is the month I LOVE as it heralds the onslaught of Spring, the clocks change and don’t the birds just love us hearing their birdsong? We have the Easter festival long weekend and the garden bursts forth with daffodils, tulips and bluebells, I adore it as the air takes on a different feeling, clarity and colour.
It’s a tradition in our household to have a good de-clutter this month. As we re-cycle, up-cycle, hoof out ...
Bye Bye to looooong January and welcome to the whistle stop month of February. Well, I like to call it the month of LOVE, being a self-confessed romantic, and I love to decorate our home in a Valentines theme with trailing ivy, red votives and tea lights, jars of fairy lights with red gingham ribbon, red tulips and faux rose petals. It’s amazing how some inexpensive little pops of colour can bring cheer and a smile to a wintry house.
Welcome all to 2024, a brand new year to get to grips with and enjoy to the fullest! Often people talk about that blank page in a diary, and I love the thought of hitting reset on different aspects of my life come 1st January. It’s impossible to be a completely new person overnight, but a few achievable new year resolutions to jot down is a good start in my book.
After the festivities and over-indulgence over Christmas I do love to set a few health goals on my agenda. I pack my meals ...
Now the big festivities are over for another year, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy some downtime before the new year kicks off. I love this pause time between Christmas and New Year, often referred to as Twixmas, to reflect, head out on long walks in the winter sunshine and indulge in all the leftovers from hosting, it has to be done!
If you’re hosting New Year’s Eve or have drinks with friends and family planned in, let me share a simple way I add an extra special ...
Welcome to the beautiful crisp month of November. The clocks have changed, the nights draw in and we adjust our minds and bodies to all things warm and cozy to embrace the delicious season of autumn-fest. T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops are replaced with woolly jumpers, leggings and boots and the sharp air gives you energy and focus, I just love it.
Welcome to the beautiful, golden month of October. Clear blue skies, red and yellow foliage, crisp clean air and that unique autumnal feeling that belongs to this special season.
